Hi guys!! A while ago I asked you all how you prevent your kids from getting sick in the winter time. Normally my kids get sick 1-2 times around this time of year and I feel like you all always have the best advice! So I am sharing a bunch of the responses below as well as what we do at home!

This year my kids have yet to get sick and I really think it has been because we haven’t been going out nearly as much as we normally do. We also stopped going to the gym so the kids are no longer in the daycare there while we work out and I think between that and staying home more they just haven’t really been exposed much. I also love how someone mentioned asking friends if their kids have been sick or feel sick before getting together. I think that is so important and I respect anyone who cancels plans even last minute if they are worried about this.

There is a really cool app that Lysol did, it is called the Germ Cast App – it really helps to limit your germ exposure by tracking covid and flu cases down to a county level. So you can see above how it shows where the cases are currently at and it can also show your location and where the clusters of cases are. It has been really helpful even when deciding which park to go to or which grocery store.
I have really gotten into vitamins lately and have been really diligent about them for myself and the kids. I will get into what I take in another post and want to focus on the kids for this one! So for the kids we do a multi vitamin, iron, and vitamin D. I also have an Elderberry syrup that I will add to a smoothie or even just to water if they are sick and I always feel like that helps.
We also always wash hands and have been better about teaching our kids to do a better job of washing their hands and not just running them under water for 2 seconds, haha. We love to do green juice or fresh OJ in the mornings as well and I think that helps them get a good healthy start to their day.

And when they do get sick we just let them be king’s/queens of the castle and rest in bed, watch movies, use essential oils, take bubble baths, and drink smoothies!

Hope this was helpful! Thank you to Lysol for sponsoring this post.

What juicer do you use?
Great post!😊👍
Love the new site design!
Loving the idea of letting them be “queen/king” of the castle when they are sick. Sometimes just trying to rest and relax is the hardest part of being sick.
