Every Sunday we try to make it outside and enjoy some time in nature. Last Sunday we went on a little hunt for blooming Prickly Pear and this week we took our sailboat out to the lake. David used to be in the sailing club and actually proposed to me on a sailboat! So we have always wanted to have one and David happened to find this beauty on Craigslist a few years ago. It has been sitting in our garage and somehow we always find excuses to not go out (well not having wind is actually a valid excuse but still!) We finally made it happen and it was the best day. We were there at the lake for about 6 hours and it was heavenly. We set up camp under a shade tree and played in the water and David and Attie went out on the boat. We were actually a little nervous to have the girls go out because it was actually quite windy today.
I have really been loving long sleeve swimsuits so I don’t have to worry about too much sun exposure especially since we swim SO much. I am going to link a bunch of cute ones below. On Free People they even have like full on full body suits – legs and all and I am this close to ordering. Not kidding. Not sure how that will work when it is 110 degrees outside but man limiting sun exposure is just hard so I like when my swimsuits do it for me.
The girls suits are from Zulu and Zephyr – they have these cute hats as well but the girls didn’t want to wear them today. Attie’s tank is from the brand Main Story, I get pieces from each of their collections for Atticus – it is probably my favorite place to shop for boy clothes. I also order them 2 sizes too big so they fit for a long time (they are a little pricey but love supporting small businesses so much) and he likes oversized anyway.
What do you guys usually do on Sundays? We always want to make sure Sundays feel special so we usually:
- Try to make it to church although in all honesty it doesn’t always happen. We usually always do a lesson at home though.
- Go out into nature – a hike, a scavenger hunt, explore a new area, etc
- Spend as much quality time together as a family
- Eat dinner at my parents – every Sunday we go to my parent’s house with my siblings and their families
- Bake – we love baking on Sundays
- Go over our weekly schedule and talk about any family announcements
