Before David and I got engaged, I went to nanny in France for a summer. I remember feeling so incredibly homesick and missing him so much. Now when we travel – no matter where we go and for how long – it always feels like home because we are together and have our babies with us! It takes effort to make traveling feel like home though. When we had Atticus, we told ourselves we didn't want having children to slow us down. To do that, we decided that we'd have to make certain commitments and sacrifices in order to make travel as non-disruptive as possible. The biggest thing is we try our hardest to keep to our/the kids daily schedules. While traveling, we maintain Atticus’s nightly routine – ending the day with a song and family time. We keep the same nap times, and even travel with Atticus's fitted sheet and Chauncey dog (his stuffed dog). He can't sleep without him! We also bring some of his favorite toys, activity books sound machine and Aveeno Baby Daily Moisture Lotion to keep his (and baby Rosie’s) sensitive skin healthy and moisturized – all just to make life on the road seem just like life at home. No matter where in the world I am, taking care of my family is my first priority. For me, that' what being a mom is all about Mother’s Day is coming up on Sunday. If you’re still looking for a special gift, I love the AVEENO® Baby Essential Daily Care Gift Set (pictured above). It has nourishing, soothing products for mom and baby!
