Laundry Day
Lifestyle September 30, 2015
If i didn’t have David, I am not kidding, I would probably come home from vacations and wait weeks before actually doing the laundry haha, I DESPISE laundry! We for some reason had an excessive amount after Paris, I think because we forgot to do any before we left so it all just piled up. Sometimes I think to myself “Atticus has no clothes!!!” Then I finally go through the hampers and realize he has more clothes than he will ever need. Laundry feels like the most unproductive activity since Atticus is by my side pulling everything out of the washer as I put it in, throwing everything out of the clean basket onto the floor, and then once they are finally folded they end up getting yanked out of drawers. (or he pushes the basket of folded clothes off the bed, like in the photo above, ha!) Which is actually SO adorable and hilarious, so its hard to care and not laugh about it or stop him, but still.. it feels like the most drawn out task ever even with all the giggles. Laundry is A’s favorite thing and thinks sitting in the basket, helping with pouring the detergent, washing the machine start, etc is just HILARIOUS so he makes it fun. Hopefully he thinks its funny until the day I can tell him to do his laundry ;) We have mentioned Seventh Generation products many times before here on the blog. We have used them for our cleaning, laundry, and baby needs for over a year now and we absolutely love them!!! I get extremely itchy skin (like I am talking I have a wire bristle brush by my bed that I scratch my legs with - so gross and weird I know but its bad!!) and I have to be super selective about the products I put on my skin and especially what I wash my clothes with. We use the Seventh Generation laundry detergent for sensitive skin and it works wonders. It is also nice that their products are all baby friendly, which is the main reason we decided to try them out in the first place. I like knowing I can clean A’s highchair tray with cleaner that is safe and he can eat off it after without me worrying. And I love knowing his clothes don’t have all these crazy chemicals in them! *Thank you to Seventh Generation for sponsoring this post!

I love these pictures!! Does David take these?
Thanks so much!! Yes, he did 🙂
You have such gorgeous photos!! Where did you get that sweatshirt from? I love it!
Thanks so much!! It is from Junkfood Clothing (linked above) xo
Somehow I missed this post! It is true what everyone else said, you can even make doing laundry look glamorous! xo

Wow you are too nice!! Thank you!! xo
Sheesh! I came here to see what all the fuss was about and I feel so bad for you 🙁 You should hire someone to like, monitor your comments and delete the mean ones so you don’t have to see them and be torn down. Everyone’s human! Keep being awesome 🙂
EmmyJake
Thanks Emily!! It usually isn’t like this 🙁 But yes, it was hard to see all the negative comments. Thank you for your kind words!! xoxo
I always feel so bad for that dog when I watch her snaps. He always either looks sad or scared of Atticus.
He is far from being “sad” or “scared”… He loves Atticus! You are choosing to see something else I guess 🙂
Thank you Leanne! You’ve proved my point perfectly!
You’re so free flowing and not strict when it comes to A and him spilling his food everywhere, which I wish I could be with my son but i don’t want his clothes to be ruined with stains! How do you get yours out?
Atticus is so busy and gets messy fast so I try not to worry about it too much but I use a Seventh Generation stain remover spray as well! Thanks for reading Elle!!
AMBER! I died!!! Did you die over the hater’s comments? I’m still laughing! I’m sorry you got so much crap over such a cute onesie! If fellow Jewish readers weren’t offended, than no one should have been! *Ignorance* The Star of David first represent the religion not the event! Trolls Trolls Trolls! But as we all know, hater’s make the world go round and they sure make our blogs grow 😉
By the way, I’ve used Seventh Generation and they are worth all the hype! Much love to you! Hope to see you soon!

Yeah, my Jewish Grandmother saw nothing wrong with this post. So like I said, troll. Carry on ????
Thanks so much Kat!! I am so glad you love the products too!! Thank you for the sweet comment!! xo
This product contains GMO corn, in 4 forms! Just giving a warning to everyone. My daughter is allergic to corn and has been having a severe allergic reaction to this product for the past two weeks. She has had 3 ER visits, 3 MD visits and 1 allergist visit and is still having hives. She laundered her clothes and then went on her anniversary trip to Florida. She started having throat, lips, tongue swelling and hives the first day of her trip. She has taken steroids(which have their on horrible side effects) and antihistamines for two weeks now and is still having hives on most of her body, face and scalp. Please beware of this product, esp babies and young children.
I am sorry to hear that!! I don’t think everyone should have to beware though 🙂 Thanks for the heads up!
I agree – Amber has adjusted the photo so it doesn’t resemble the Holocaust uniform – that was an understandable mistake in the first place, and a quick courteous note at the end of the blog would have covered it. But now she’s deleting perfectly polite and respectful comments asking for the anti-Semitic comments to be removed, yet she’s leaving the offensive comments. I have contacted Seventh Generation’s publicist to let them know that this blogger probably doesn’t have the PR skills to be representing their brand appropriately, and I’ve taken screenshots of this post in case any of the companies I deal with consider using this blogger for promotional purposes. It’s a shame because it was a beautiful blog post to start with, and the photos were lovely. It would have been so easy to use the initial error as positive PR through quick crisis management – instead she’s sullying the name of her sponsor.
I’m impressed with you Amber’. I bet you feel as though you’re walking a tightrope. But you cannot please ALL the people ALL the time. I would wager you feel that your blog isn’t the proper platform for back-n-forth comments unrelated to the product you’ve so graciously researched and genuinely felt your followers would try it! I know I will because I trust your opinion regarding MANY products. It’s quite apparent you and David have poured your heart and soul in every picture, video, tutorial, etc. It must be tough to find yourself reading the post to which I’m replying. To feel such unheard of pressure by a follower has left me nauseous and quite frankly worried for your health because I’ve gathered you’re one who internalizes these posts and it’s cruel and insensitive on their part. No PR company is required. You and David have handled this to the best of your ability by being more than fair, not being pushed around by ones who try scare tactics in order to guilt-trip you into deleting comments which do not meet their approval. Now that would not be fair or balanced and leave your followers feeling their opinion doesn’t matter h the least. But you chose to stand up against such bullies and not be told what to do on YOUR website! Hip Hip Horray!! Now as I began this reply, I stated I’m very impressed with you, Amber and I thank you for allowing each voice to be heard (or read) when most would be intimidated and fold. You are an inspiration to me and mine and I truly felt it in my heart that this be said.
Thank you!!
Seventh Generation products are incredible!! I love that they’re environmentally friendly and aren’t half as toxic as the bright blue or green sprayable products elsewhere. 🙂

I am so glad you agree!! I love them!! Thanks for sharing your thoughts!! 🙂
I hope the good comments outweigh the bad! Anyway, I absolutely LOVED this post. I go to school in Burlington, Vermont where Seventh Generation is located and I actually did a project on them last year in a management class and was able to see their gorgeous office building that has an amazing view of Lake Champlain. They are such a great company. If you ever find yourself in Burlington (definitely a place to check out in the Summer or Fall, during foliage), be sure to check out Seventh Generation’s building. It’s next to an AMAZING crepe place called the Skinny Pancake …. 😉
Thanks so much Elizabeth!! I appreciate the positivity! And that is SO cool!!! I would love to see the building one day! Such a great company!!
Well JEN… Are you happy now? Amber changed the pictures for you. I wish she hadn’t because they were very cute. And I laughed out loud about the flood thing. It was true … A lot of people just need to go !!
Amber, I agree with Jenny. I am Jewish and I noticed nothing wrong with your post at all. In fact I thought it was very precious. Please don’t let this ruin your day or your outlook over a few insignificant people. XO
Thanks so much for your comment. I appreciate your support!! Love ya!!
I am Jewish and I found nothing wrong with A’s outfit. I thought it was cute I’m so sorry Amber. I wish you left it as is. Don’t let people force you to change anything.
Thanks so much for your comment!! I appreciate it.
What a shame … Our beautiful, kind and gentle spirit, Amber, was ripped to shreds therefore photoshopping a TODDLERS ONESIE!!! Absolutely Unbelievable!! I only pray that she rose above SUCH PETTINESS and laughed at the people who CHOSE to view. Seriously…if you don’t like, JUST MOVE ON!! Find a platform more conducive to such replies.
Too cute! I love that Atticus gets into the hamper, and what’s really cute is how the dog squeezes into the narrow hallway to be part of the action as well!
Thanks so much Amy!! And haha he loves it, it’s hilarious! And yes Chauncey loves to be in the action ALWAYS 😉 Thank you for reading!! xo
Hi Amber – love your blog, love the pics of Atticus, he is adorable! I’m sorry you had to amend the pics – they were adorable & whilst I obviously don’t know you you certainly don’t ever give the impression of being inconsiderate or intolerant of others. Please keep up the lovely pics and hopefully the detractors don’t get you down ????
Thanks so much Mary!! That means a lot to me! I appreciate the love and support!! xo
High five!
You should train A to love doing laundry, so you’re sorted!! Haha <3 x

He is so freaking cute!

Sparkles and Shoes
Aww thank you Kelly!! 🙂
Atticus is sooo adorable!! Laundry time looks so much more fun at your house than at mine. Although my kittens help me by jumping into the washer and dryer as I’m changing loads and they cuddle up so cute on all my clean (and dirty) clothes in the laundry basket. They love helping me fold too! Our golden retriever loves to steal our socks and dish towels and walk around with them! While I laugh and think they are cute, it’s more annoying because I often have to rewash clothes!

Thank you so much!! You are so sweet!! And omg that is adorable!! Cute little helpers you have 🙂
Do you sell any of your old clothing or purses online ?
I don’t, thanks for asking though! 🙂
Oh my goodness. This is hilarious. It’s a 6 pointed star otherwise known as a hexagram, which is a shape. It is seen in many cultures and religions, and means many things. I understand it’s significance to the second world war, however it is also a sign of Jewish identity, and was seen as something positive as well.
I usually don’t acknowledge comments like this, but like c’mon people!
Amber, your pictures are gorgeous, as usual! You go glen coco! 😉
Thanks for the insight Ray!! I am so glad you liked the post!!! xo
My little girl and I just did laundry today too! And I feel you on it taking a lot longer when she “helps”. ????

Loving your pics Amber-& I guess I’m a little weird as I always enjoy doing laundry. Sending hugs to you & your family for being so strong & remaining calm & kind. Muwah!
Thanks so much Trish!! And I love having clean laundry after but the process is less enjoyable 😉 I need your perspective!! Have a great weekend! xo
These have got to be the CUTEST photos ever. And I am WITH you on hating laundry. It’s the worst, and I am the worst at getting it done. You guys are just adorable.

happy Wednesday // http://www.lifeloveandbe.com/
Aww thank you!! That’s way too nice of you! And I am so glad you love their stuff too! So nice to find a great brand! Thanks for the comment!! xo
I love that you can make something like doing laundry a worthwhile post! I hate doing laundry too (lets be honest, does anyone love it?) and I thought I would hate it even more living in an apartment that doesn’t have its own washer/dryer, but I have to admit, it’s actually less of a hassle when I can take it all down at once and wash it all at once in the laundry room, than only being able to do one load at a time. Gotta look for those silver linings where ever you can. 😉 And its good getting A involved early on (despite his current counterproductive assists, LOL). You’re training him to take it over when he’s big enough 😉
http://www.everydaystilettos.com
Thanks so much Kim!! I love the feedback! And that’s soo true! Love your positivity love!! I am hoping he will “love” doing chores when he is older haha! A mom can wish 😉 Have a great weekend!! xo
Hahaha the picture of Atticus pushing the laundry basket off the bed is absolutely amazing!! 🙂 I actually laughed out loud. I can seriously picture you guys doing laundry and I love it!! I also have super sensitive skin, like honestly it’s so annoying- especially my legs- they like freak out with everything. So I will totally look into this stuff and the fact that it’s made without all those super harsh chemicals is really great- I love know what it is I’m actually using and being able to pronounce it haha am I right?
Love you guys <3 xoxo
{my blog} http://www.lavitabella7.com
Aww thank you!! I love that one too 🙂 He is so fun!! And good!! I hope you love it like we do 🙂 Thanks for reading!! xo
From what I’ve seen, I absolutely ADORE your apartment!! Is there anyway you could give us a tour of everything, I’d love to see how you have all of the rooms decorated. Thank you!xx
Aww thank you so much!! I was planning on doing a home tour but never got around to it.. maybe I need to!! Thanks for the sweet comment!! xo
Laundry is the worst, but i love folding clothes! You are so lucky to have a washer/dryer though. I will have to try that laundry detergent, i also have really sensitive skin and have a hard time finding soaps and detergent that doesn’t irritate my skin.
Yes definitely try it out 🙂 I know you will love it!! Thanks for the comment Stephanie!! 🙂
Glad you guys made it home safely! I hate laundry too! The folding just makes me lazy :p

Thanks so much Dominique!! And I agree!! As if washing it isn’t hard enough haha 😉
Hi Amber ???? I’m from Spain, and I really want a family like yours, you are too cute!
Hi Raquel!! Thanks so much!! You are so sweet!! Thank you for reading from Spain! 🙂
After I come from a trip I don’t think I unpack for weeks. Laundry is never the first thing on my agenda!!
Unless the sheets aren’t clean. Then laundry it is.
http://beyondbasicblog.com
Okay good!! I am not the only one 😉 Thanks for the comment Meghan!!
I’m totally with you on the laundry! I recently moved in with my bf and thanks to him, I have barely touched a washer or dyer since! haha I literally hate it.
Props to being such an amazing mom and inspiration though! Im 24 and cant even imagine being married with kids and having a dog to top it off. I live downtown in battery park city and we have SOOOO many families in our building because there is a really good public elementary school across the street (which you should totes check out for Atticus if you plan to stay in the city) so I see babies/children everywhere and cant figure out how these parents do it!
1st baby in my family is my nephew that is due end of Nov and cant wait to meet him! Hoping he will be as fun as your little guy <3 and I'm looking forward to more baby posts from you and your next baby so I know what to buy him because right now I have not a clue.
Ahh thank you!! I am glad I am not alone on this haha 😉 And thank you SO much!! That is so incredibly nice of you to say!! And good to know, thanks for the suggestion!! How fun for your family, congrats on your soon-to-be nephew yay!! xo
Love this post! I despise laundry because its 1 floor away from my place, but love folding clean laundry 🙂 Such an adorable post!

Wow that is such a nice compliment 😉 Thank you doll!!
Haha, as if finding the motivation to do laundry isn’t hard enough already! I seem to do the same thing myself and be like “I have nothing to wear,” and then I realize that’s because it’s all in my laundry hamper 🙂
I know huh?! It is a continual process haha! I am glad I am not the only one that thinks that way 😉 Thanks for reading Laura!! xo
I am new to your blog and just wanted to say that you are very kind and considerate when you reply to your readers. I appreciate that, as you don’t see a lot of positive responses on social media. You are a genuinely warm person. I look forward to reading more of your posts.
Welcome!! I am so glad you are following along now Stacey 🙂 The support means the world to me!! You are so kind! xo
Laundry is my least favorite chore! It piles up so fast in our house and everyone seems to neglect it. Atticus makes it look so cute though – look at those smiles! Such a happy boy 🙂

You are sooooo lucky that you have the machines in your apartment rather than having to go down to the basement. My son used to love sitting in the laundry basket!
Yes! We were so glad to have the laundry inside our apartment, or else I doubt it would EVER get done haha! And how cute!! Kids are the best. Thanks for reading!! xo
Hi Amber.
Laundry looks like a fun thing in your place with Atticus. I wanted to thank you for an old post about hair extensions. It was so clear and just what I needed to know about them. Big thanks!!!!
