Hair Hacks
Fashion June 30, 2015Today I am sharing 5 of my favorite hair hacks! I love finding little hair care secrets or tips that make doing my hair easier! So I am going to do a series of these posts and share 5 each time. Here are today's five...
1. Hide your rubber band without a bobby pin! Use a bobby pin and attach it to the end of the strand you are wrapping around your hair band. Then thread the bobby pin underneath the hair you just wrapped pulling the end of the strand with it. Once the end of the stand is through, you can pull the bobby pin out the other side and the hair will stay in place!
2. Put a hydrating serum on your hair before bed instead during the day. I like to use my Pantene Expert Dry Defy Velvet Crème Infusion and I lay it on my hair! By the time you wake up it has all soaked in your hair and it is super soft!
3. Make your braids thick in front by hiding it with hair on top! Very hard to explain BUT I show you exactly how in this tutorial HERE!
4. Hairspray bobby pins before pinning them in your hair, it will help them stay put!
5. Apply your conditioner on before going in the sauna at the gym and then rinse it out with cold water! I like to use myΒ Pantene Expert Dry Defy Intense Hydration ConditionerΒ and every time I do this, it makes my hair extra soft and shiny!
6. Split your pony tail in half then use the lid to a make up product and squeeze it in the middle of the rubber band. It will instantly volumize your pony without adding any product or teasing.
xo
*Thanks to Pantene Expert for partnering with me to make this post possible!

Amber, I love your blog. You are so very talented. What a special girl you are! You’ve got some awesome tricks that I really love, I know you’ve previously said that you have naturally straight hair so frizz isn’t a problem for you. Im worried if I do the hair styles (because I have beach curly hair, but with tons of frizz) involving the mini elastic bands that my hair will get in huge knots. Whats your recommendation for that?
Thanks so much Taylor!! I appreciate that so much!! You are so sweet π For the mini elastics, you can always cut them out so you don’t have to worry about it getting tangled. xo
I absolutely LOVE your tips and tricks! Thank you for sharing!! π
Thank you so much!! π
Love these! More hair hacks please!!!!!!????
Thanks so much Lindsay!! π
I am in love with your hair. You have really inspired me to want to go blonde. I am naturally dark-headed. My main question to you is, what is your natural hair color? In a few pictures I can see your roots look quite a bit darker. I’m just scared to take the plunge and go totally blonde like you, I have never done it before
Thank you so much Kinley!! And my natural is more of a mousy brown π Did you end up going blonde?!
Hi Amber! Loved all your hair hacks and literally tried them all! I was wondering if you could do a post on how you hide your bobby pins so well. I’ve been YouTubing how to make them look invisible and I need some serious help. Also, I know I wrote to you earlier this summer about growing my hair out, but I was hoping maybe you could do another post with some of your own before and afters? Pretty please! I’m dying to see you as a brunette or even just high school shoulder length hair. π Who doesn’t love a good couple throw back photo! π
Thanks so much Emilia!! I am so happy you liked the tips π And those are some great ideas for a post, I will keep them in mind for sure! xo

Thanks so much Candace!! And any lid will work!! But I would say try a twist off foundation lid, lotion lid, etc. Mine was a lid to a powder sunblock, I want to say it was like 3 inches long and maybe an 1 inch wide! I hope that helps!! xoxo
Great hair tips Amber! Can’t wait to try these out, especially the no bobby pin for wrapping the hair around the rubber band. Sometimes I don’t want the rubber band to show!
