I am truly in love with fresh flowers, and lots of them. Clearly. All the little corner stores have been selling flowers SO cheap - roses are 2 dozen for $9 by our place! Granted they arent the highest quality but I dont care - I sort of prefer quantity over quality when it comes to flowers. I have been able to find some good fake ones to have in each room but nothing beats the real deal. It totally brightens up the room and they really do make me happier? Anyone else with me on that? In my search for good fake ones I probably ended up returning about 6 that were absolutely horrible. I now have a few that I love and unfortunately have found that the best and realest looking ones are quite pricey but so worth it because they dont die and last forever!! People during winter time would come in our apartment and ask how I found peonies in the city during the winter! But they are fake ;) (We have the ones here and here. We also have one from this brand that isn't available but their quality is fabulous! how amazing is this one?) We are already missing the beach and warm weather and I am praying it warms up again soon. Tomorrow I am spending the whole day with lil Atticus (pending if Rosie decides to take a bottle) and I am so excited I could squeal. I feel like I am often holding Rosie when I am playing with him so I cant really be as into play time as I would like .. if that makes sense. I have been craving one on one time with my boy so tomorrow I have a fun day planned for us. The other day on the airplane ride home from California (which was one of our most successful kid sleeping flights ever!!!) Atticus kept coming up to me and giving me big hugs around my neck and just laying his head on mine for a few minutes. He did it probably 12 times and it was truly the sweetest thing. PS My sister in law, Emily, just started a blog! She has the most gorgeous, flawless skin of anyone I know - she does all natural skin care and minimalism and also has the cutest son and is pregnant with another! So you guys should check out her blog! xo

Hi Amber! My husband and I are planning a trip to NYC in May and I was wondering what top things/attractions/restaurants/etc. you would recommend? Also, your kids are the cutest and the flower pictures are adorable!! 🙂
How fun!! That will be a blast! Some of our favorite restaurants are Sarabeth’s, Joe’s Pizza, Jacob’s Pickles, and Norma’s. I would definitely go to the Top of the Rock (top of the Rockefeller Center) for a gorgeous view of the city. Also, if you go to Brooklyn, you can ride bikes or walk across the Brooklyn Bridge.
You and your little fambam are the cutest! Fresh flowers makes any day better 🙂 and that is a steal right by your house! It looks like you are enjoying Springtime in the city which is so beautiful and inspiring! 🙂

Such sweet pictures! I am so glad that spring is coming, the fresh air, more daylight, more time outside, winter always feels so long when you live in northern climates! You sure will have a fun spring watching Atticus explore all the new things outside. Love the 4th picture in this post with you standing in the blue dress and the huge bouquet. Personally, I prefer high quality flowers. I just feel like I really notice the difference. But I do like the effect of flowers brightening up a room. And they don’t always have to be the arrangements offered by the shop! My favourite florist is on the high end for my local area but I know that I can just walk into the cooler and buy like one loose cut or make my own bouquet for less than a fancy arrangement – and it will still be high quality!

I grew up with my grandma and mom and they always HATED the smell of fresh flowers, so our home was always covered in every corner with fake florals. You really can find some that look so real and fool just about anyone! Love your little fake flower tip!
