Double Dutch Braid Bun How To
Hair October 22, 2015
I have teamed up with the girls over at Lauren Conrad to share a hair how to for this Double Dutch Braid Bun! It is really easy and foolproof... its messy so it doesn't matter too much if you mess up - it is supposed to look like you kinda just threw it together. If you dont already follow the Lauren Conrad Blog then be sure to head over, they have everything from hair how to's and fashion to decorating tips and yummy recipes. You guys will love. Below are the steps for this style.... 1. Dutch braid both sides of a middle part and tie them off with a clear elastic. 2. Pull apart/pancake both braids to make them nice and chunky. 3. With the remaining hair in back, section off a small section (about three inches starting from the bottom of your hairline) and braid that into a three-strand braid. 4. Take the hair above the braid you just made and the two Dutch braids and create a messy bun. 5. Wrap the three-strand braid around the messy bun. 6. Pin the ends in place and hairspray. And you’re done! Have a good day! Tomorrow is FRIDAY!!!!!!!!! xo

it’ very nice hair. did you try curling?
https://greathaircurlers.com
Do you have any suggestions for making Dutch braids look fuller near my part? I am always so self conscious because my hair is so fine near my face.
This hairstyle is absolutely gorgeous!!! Thanks!!
I love this ‘do, but I just can’t seem to get the messy bun part. I’ve always been adept at braiding, but the skills to create a messy bun eludes me. Can you give me some tips?
Cute style and tutorial. I’m really loving your blog.

I have one question though! how do you get your messy bun in this tutorial to look so amazing? I tried with my extensions on but I can’t ever get my bun to look right! any suggestions?

Super cute! I was wondering where you get your hair extensions though? I want to buy some that look natural but aren’t too expensive.. Could you help me out? Thank you!!
Hi Rachel!! I have used Laced Hair Extensions and Euronext extensions from Sally Beauty. Both are great but are at different price points. I hope that helps!! xo
Adorable! I love messy styles for fall – and messy and easy is always perfect when you’re a mom!

Thanks so much Colleen!! I am so glad you like it 🙂
I really like the way this makes you look Dutch, or authentically European…Milk Maid Chic!!! It has a definite reserved quality, but I would like to see you wear it with a pea coat, check scarf, seasonal leggings, and just above the knee charcoal boots. The Dutch have a certain drab… But no reason you can’t amplify this style with good lines, accessories… And hair done right!????
Thanks so much Ehren!! I love that compliment!! I totally agree, Dutch style is so dreamy!
Love this hairstyle! You always make these tutorials look so easy. 🙂
Unique Geek
Thanks Jessica!! I appreciate that 🙂
Just tried this hair do and I love it! Can’t wait to wear it out on the weekends! Also, I was wondering how often do you usually using self tanner in order to keep up a healthy looking glow? Trying to figure out how often I should use it without turning an unnatural color.
Yay!! I am so so glad!! I bet it looked so cute on you!! And for self tanner, I try and reapply once a week. I hope that helps!! xo

Hi Amber, love your hair tutorials. I wanted to know if your extensions are clip in or not? Getting excited about your imminent arrival and you look so good throughout your pregnancy. I made a big effort throughout mine as I wanted to look and feel good and I too made sure nails were done, fake tan etc for the ‘big’ day!
Thanks so much!! And I wear clip ins 🙂 And yay!! I am glad to hear that! I will be doing that too! 😉
Gorgeous Amber! Love this style! I will be trying it out for sure!
