I wanted to say thanks for all of your sweet comments and recommendations for our move!! I wish I had time to respond to all of you! I used to be really good at answering all comments but now with a baby and moving its a little hectic but I really do love reading every comment, they make my day. And I know a lot of you asked which city in Alabama we are moving to but I would prefer to keep some things private now that we have our little guy! I think it is just safer that way :)
As excited as I am to move to Alabama, lets be honest, my hair will not stand a chance in that stinkin humidity! It never does. Which luckily means I will get more creative with braids and whatnot but I wanted to do a quick curl tutorial on my favorite waves since I am sure I won't take the time to curl my hair much anymore!
This is my absolute favorite hairstyle, ever ever ever. I love messy hair and I love having my hair down. I was trying to recreate Marisa Millers curls one day and came up with this technique and it has been a go to since then. I wore my hair like this for my wedding and maternity photos and a million times in between. Its perfect for any occasion. I did a tutorial on this almost two years ago and figured it was time for an updated one, soo I hope you guys like!

Hey Amber:) Okay so my hair color looks exactly like this. I was wondering what extension shade of bfb hair would go well with it!
Hey Amber!!!
I know this is an older post but i am absolutely in love this this hair color and style! What do i need to tell my colorist to get this color?! Also, are you wearing extensions? if so, what color and brand are you wearing? thank you so much!!!
xoxo
Veronica
I love your hair!! You are so pretty and inspirational 🙂 My hair is medium length and I am having a hard time finding cute and easy hairstyles. Could you do a tutorial without your extensions sometime?
Thanks

I only have 5 mins to style my hair while the baby sleeps, using curling spray for the quick beach hair look is a life saver. Maybe something like this natural mist (https://ecohabitude.com/products/12740/sea-salt-hair-mist-sea-salt-lavender). Tip: You may want to style the top and front of your hair for like 2 mins, usually these products look more natural than styled but are sooo time efficient.
This is awesome! I am definitely gonna try on my short hair. Just wanted to know how long you hold the curling iron on each section for?
Love that tutorial and you look just like her!!!
Hi, could you please advise on the curling iron, make and size. I am in South Africa and would like to order on line from a supplier in USA since I can’t find any in SA.
Thanks for your tutorial, Mathilda
Great tutorial! I have wanted to do some beachy waves but they haven’t turned out quite right. Going to try with my 1-inch barrel and do the wave portion at the end. Thanks for the video!
I love what you guys are up too. This type of clever
work and reporting! Keep up the superb works guys
I’ve included you guys to my personal blogroll.
Seriously LOVE this, I have never seen this done before but I can’t wait to try it!
Do you think a smaller barrel would work fine?
Please can you do a video for you make up in this?! x
Wow, this really looks amazing!
Your hair looks amazing as always! Thanks for the tutorial!

Congratulations on your move to Alabama! I have lived in Huntsville, AL the majority of my life (except for two years I spent in Mississippi for college) and absolutely love Alabama. We have fantastic white sand beaches, good shopping in Birmingham, and the most intelligent friends, family, and colleagues in Huntsville. Not to mention, Atlanta, Nashville, Memphis, and New Orleans are all a stone’s throw away. Get ready for football season, because no other state does it like Alabama. (“Roll Tide” and “War Damn Eagle” are appropriate at every occasion you will soon learn!) “Southern Hospitality” is a real thing here, and I’m sure you’ll experience it quickly.
Good luck and I hope Atticus loves it! He’s soooo adorable!
This is a great tutorial! Can’t wait to try my own beachy waves!
How long does it usually take to do all of your hair?
Hi Amber, great tutorial! You have amazing hair. I was just wondering how hot you had the curling iron on and how long you held each curl? I have been trying to master this look forever!
I love this thank you. Now if only I could get my hair to actually grow out. Any suggestions on what I could use?
Amber you are one of the only blogs I follow! Beautiful girl with a beautiful family!
These are the perfect beach waves! I am so excited to try this out!

These are the most perfect beachy waves! For my birthday I really want a curling wand and I was just going to get one without a clamp but the beachy waves you did are my favourite type of curls but after watching this tutorial, I’m definitely getting a cheap one with a clamp!
kinda missing my long hair just by looking at this post 🙁

Congrats on the move, Amber! That is super exciting! I hope the drive goes well with your little man and you can settled quickly.

VERY smart not to post what city you’re living in. Also, make sure that you don’t get any street names in the background when you’re being photographed! I love your blog, awesome tutorial. 🙂
I agree! I think it’s a very smart move; too many bloggers list way too much personal info, and honestly? We live in a crazy, scary world! So, Amber, hats off to you for thinking about Atticus and his well-being. Tip: MAKE SURE THE MAP IS OFF ON YOUR INSTAGRAM PHOTOS! There’s nothing worse than seeing mom showcase pictures of their children (in their crib, at home, etc.) and the photo map shows you the exact location–even if you do not TAG it with your location!
I just love your hair color, it’s making me want to add some lowlights! It’s the perfect fall color!
I desperately needed this! my hair is completely unruly and I can never seem to manage the waves so thanks for sharing!

Hey Amber! Thanks for this tutorial. 🙂 Would you mind telling me what curling iron you use? I may have missed it in the post but I can’t seem to find it.
Have I mentioned how much I love your tutorials (and blog in general)? This is great. Thank you! 🙂 Humidity is the worse (which is probably why I’m terrible at doing hair. I just never even tried when I lived in Texas), but southern hospitality is the best!!! Hope the rest of your move goes well!

LOVE this tutorial! I’m going to try it this weekend. I would have never thought to clamp down on the ends of my hair. It’s genius!

Hi Amber!
I have naturally dark blonde hair (keeps getting darker ugh) and I am thinking of dying or highlighting it for the first time because I really miss when it was BLONDE but don’t really know where to start! Do you have any tips or advice for how to get started?
Thanks!
Genevieve
I am trying these curls this morning! hopefully it goes well!
