Amber’s Guide to Vintage Glassware

BLENDO GLASSWARE – these are all of my frosted glass beauties.
Blendo is one of the more affordable brands as far as collectible glassware goes! It is a retro mid century vibe and was at it’s peak in sales in the 1950’s and 60’s. They come in the MOST beautiful colors and look stunning in the sunlight. I love knowing where the glass was made so if you do too, Blendo was made in West Virginia!

They also come in really fun swirls and ombre blocking. My blendo pieces are the ones we use the most! The kid’s love getting to pick their own color. So as much as I love a complete set – I also love the mismatched sets. I am obsessed with this one ahh.

ANNNNND they have martini glasses, margarita glasses, cocktail shakers, and bowls. I recently ordered some bowls I am so excited for.

MAKE IT SPECIAL GLASSWARE
These are pieces that aren’t by a specific brand but make an ordinary thing feel fun and special. Think.. Banana splits, sundaes, perfume, candlesticks, etc! I do prefer Indiana or Libbey glassware for these but if I love it I don’t care about the brand so much.

I love dishes made for ice cream! Makes it feel extra fun and special to make for the kids. Here are some I love.
Little random items like an orange juicer, perfume, a platter, butter dish, a vase, martini glasses, or shells to hold make up brushes, salt and pepper shakers, etc just make life feel so so fun!!!!

SPAGHETTI STRING GLASSWARE
I absolutely love the look of these. They are so unique and special I am obsessed!!! These were made out of Indianapolis and were marketed as “shatter proof”.. Which they do feel very different from normal glass but I have not tested this theory haha. These were popular in the 1950’s and 60’s!

I also love that they have a lot more neutral colors and earth tones – I am drawn to color with glassware but would one day love to have some of the neutrals in our desert home!
FENTON GLASSWARE
These are ruffly and look like candy and make me SO HAPPY. Like I cannot explain the joy these bring me. They are SOO pretty and feel so feminine. Fenton Glass Art was founded in 1905 by two brothers in Ohio and they are known for their beautiful colors and handpainted pieces – a lot of them have floral designs that are sooo pretty!

The handpainted designs are much more expensive but they are considered collectibles! They also made some designs with hobnails.. These small round knobs that make it look like a sea creature to me – it is really pretty. Here are some Fenton pieces I absolutely lovvvve!!!
There are so many more I love but let’s start with this! I will be back with more! I will also try to keep this post updated as things sell out and add in stock links since I know there is only one available of course! Happy collecting angels 🙂
